Historical note

the Cascade "gold mountain" was designed by architect Michetti. After Peter I in 1717 visited the residence of the king of France, he haunted the idea to create a fountain, the same located in the "Marly Le ROI". First, the deity statues were made of copper, and marble steps had gold.

the Gold he appeared on the steps, when, in 1724, work on the project was lead architect Zemtsov. Peter I was not able to see his dream fully realized. Sculptures from lead was replaced by a marble already in 1870 under the leadership of Benoit, when the cascade "gold mountain" was reorganised.
